Approach to Therapy
Veerpal’s approach to therapy is person-centred, humanistic, and integrative. She firmly believes in the importance of cultivating and maintaining a strong alliance with each of her clients, as well as establishing a non-judgmental and compassionate space for clients to explore and process their experiences, emotions, values, and thoughts. In her therapeutic practice, Veerpal draws on Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She tailors her approach based on each client’s needs and goals. At the heart of each modality, Veerpal practices with an unwavering foundation of respect and empathy, as well as with a spirit of curiosity and collaboration. She seeks to engage in important aspects of clients’ lives, such as their cultural frame of reference and experiences, and with a deep appreciation for their values. Her broad clinical goals for clients are for them to feel heard and valued and to experience a safe space to express and explore their concerns while working toward meaningful change and development.
