About Me
Lindsay Fulham is currently completing a PhD in Clinical Psychology at York University. Through her training at York University, Lindsay has gained foundational knowledge and experience in various psychotherapeutic approaches including Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Lindsay further strengthened her therapeutic skills through her practicum placements at the York University Psychology Clinic as well as the Women’s Health Concerns Clinic (WHCC) and Sleep Disorders Clinic at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. Through her research and assessment experiences at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) Borderline Personality Disorder Clinic, Lindsay has also gained a thorough understanding of emotion-related difficulties and evidence-based approaches for treating them, such as DBT and EFT.
Approach to Therapy
Lindsay takes a person-centered, humanistic, and integrative style to therapy where she tailors her approach to each client’s specific needs and goals. Central to her approach is the belief that all clients have the capacity to live their full potential and that mental health is a journey that is unique to each person. Lindsay believes that facilitating this journey starts with fostering a strong and collaborative therapeutic relationship that enables clients to feel safe, comfortable, and heard. With her genuine, warm, and curious therapeutic style, she seeks to create a space where her clients feel empowered to explore their thoughts, feelings, and concerns without judgment. She draws from evidence-based psychotherapies including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to support clients in their process of healing and self-discovery. Lindsay is devoted to fostering an inclusive and respectful space for clients with diverse backgrounds and strives to be an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community. Lindsay takes a culturally humble approach that is open, curious, and willing to learn the complex and multifaceted nature of identity and how it plays an essential role in one’s mental health and healing journey.
