About Me
I'm a clinical and counselling psychologist passionate about helping clients work through emotional struggles, life transitions, relationship issues, and stress from feeling caught between different worlds or identities. I create a space that’s warm, supportive, and culturally aware — where all parts of you are welcome.
I have extensive experience treating anxiety, panic, social discomfort, depression, OCD, trauma, ADHD, grief, and self-critcism. I also have a special interest in supporting individuals who feel the tension between their home or family culture and the culture they live in — especially those from immigrant families, or who carry multiple cultural identities.
As a Korean Canadian myself, I understand what it’s like to grow up balancing different expectations, values, and ways of being. Whether you’re first-generation, second-generation, or somewhere in between, I’m here to support you through the complexities of that experience. I also speak conversational Korean, and I’m happy to incorporate it into our sessions if that feels more comfortable for you.
My approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy. But most importantly, I tailor our work to align with your values, background, and unique story.
In addition to individual therapy, I also provide psychological assessments (for mood, anxiety, ADHD, and more), and I’ve worked in a variety of hospital and university settings, including CAMH and the University of Toronto. I’ve supervised graduate students and published research, but at the heart of what I do is building meaningful personal connections.
Anxiety (generalized anxiety, social anxiety), Obsessive Compulsive Behaviours (OCD), Panic (panic attacks, agoraphobia), Depression, Trauma (post-traumatic stress disorder, adjustment disorder, relational trauma), ADHD, grief, and self-criticism.
