About Me
Ms. Melanie Fuller is completing her master’s thesis, titled ‘Reflections of high-conflict co-
parenting before, during, and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic,’ for her Counselling Psychology degree at Athabasca University. Before starting her master’s degree, Ms. Fuller earned her B.A. honours degree, specializing in psychology, at the University of Ottawa, with a focus on the developmental impacts of childhood trauma across the lifespan.
September 2019-August 2020, Melanie co-facilitated a men’s trauma group and worked extensively with diverse clientele (17+) at the Centre for Treatment of Sexual Abuse and Childhood Trauma. Ms. Fuller continues to work with individuals who experience symptoms of childhood trauma, along with post-traumatic-stress disorder (PTSD) and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), particularly the impact of these symptoms on their relationship with self and others. Ms. Fuller provides a warm, non-judgemental, collaborative, strengths-based ‘approach in her work with her clients. In her sessions and treatment planning, she integrates current state-of-the-art, evidence-based techniques and strategies from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Narrative Therapy (NT), and The Integrative Trauma and Attachment Treatment Model (ITATM). When Melanie isn’t collaborating with others to meet their life goals, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters, sports (skiing, tennis, swimming), finding the latest comedy jokes, and gaining inspiration from music (new and old) as she animates films, draws, paints, and designs.
